Nestled in Osage River Hills, the park contains many features typical of the Ozark region: from rugged heavily wooded areas to beautiful and delicate cave formations. The ridges and hills are coated with dense forests of oak-hickory and sprinkled with sunny glades. Several areas are covered by savannah scattered trees and ground cover of colorful flowers and prairie grasses of assorted species. In stark contrast to the wild areas, Lake of the Ozarks State Park also offers modern amenities such as the Lee C. Fine Airport, which includes a charter service.
