The Mother's Shrine is located in Laurie, MO, near the banks of the beautiful Lake of The Ozarks. In honor of Mary and mothers everywhere, the shrine was created following the designation of Mary as "Mother of the Church" by Pope Paul VI.
Nestled in a natural grotto, the open-air shrine is surrounded by trees and terraced landscaping, seating several thousand people.
Near the altar are fountains and a waterfall. The peaceful scene lies in the shadow of an insiring sculpture of Mary.
You can show love and appreciation to your mother by enrolling her name, along with your personal sentiments about her, at the Mother's Shrine.
Masses and devotions are held regularly to honor and praise mothers for their gift of life. The names of those enrolled at the shrine are placed on the altar during all celebrations.
